The Danish high school curriculum consists of 14 authors. 13 men and 1 woman. What perspective does that give you on the world?
We decided to find out. Pensum_GPT is an AI chatbot trained only on literature from the 14 authors on the curriculum. A digital representation and personification of the curriculum. And a pretty controversial one. Without any instructions, the AI developed a personality, that we integrated directly into the chat function on the instagram profile @pensum_gpt

The campaign managed to create decisive reactions among relevant decision-makers within a few days and was covered by leading news media, including TV2, Jyllands-Posten, and Ekstra Bladet. This meant that despite the media budget of 0 DKK, the campaign reached more than 4 million Danes in a few days.
Discussions flared up on both Instagram and Twitter – even the Minister of Digitalization and Gender Equality, Marie Bjerre, actively participated in the debate. But the highlight was when the campaign secured Pensum GPT a spot on one of Denmark's most popular TV programs, Go' Aften Live, with the Minister of Children and Education, Mathias Tesfaye, participating.
Here, the Danish Teachers' Association and the chairman of the Danish High School Association met with Tesfaye and argued for the importance of having a more gender-balanced and contemporary literary canon in high schools. The Minister of Education agreed – and the parties therefore shook hands, agreeing that the literary canon needs revising in the near future. The minister promised that from August 2024, at least 10 women will be added to the annual curriculum.
